Answer:
I wanted to share a clip of a 100 Huntley St. episode featuring my good friend and Christian Apologist Rev. Tony Costa. It is a concise look at answering some deeper questions that perhaps you have pondered or been asked by others.
Tony does a great job at briefly highlighting the rationale for God’s existence by pointing to the intricacy of the universe, the concept of “Creatio ex nihilo” (creation out of nothing), and the implications of absolute morals. He goes on to discuss how the Christian worldview approaches the concept of suffering and how through suffering God can be glorified - most evident when we observe the convergence of suffering and pain on Jesus Christ. Lastly, Tony touches upon the uniqueness of Christianity in comparison to other religious worldviews.

Is the “Old Testament God” mean and distant? Shouldn’t God fear us?
Question:
Hey Sumo,
So I was sitting on the subway today when Exodus 20:4-5 randomly popped into my head. (I know right? I myself was kind of weirded out.)
Anyway, i was contemplating this verse when it struck me. God in the old testament seems pretty distant and cold yet in the new testament, he seems to warm up when jesus pops up. What does jesus have to do with it?
Also, back in times of the new testament, didn’t everyone subscribe to beliefs in the same god? Did religions even vary at that point in time?
I don’t know what to make of all these questions and how they bear any relevance to faith, but i’m sure it’ll manifest itself in a greater issue so I’m asking them now. I don’t expect pages and pages of answers, in fact i’d probably have a hard time getting through it so something short and concise would be great if you can muster up the will to answer.

Oh and a side thought: If we’re the only ones who know God exists, then that means that we justify his existence. He is real because we perceive him to be real, so shouldn’t he be afraid of what we think of him and not vice versa?
